Bringing International Culture to the Classrooms of Memphis

International Teachers' Conference

"Bringing International Culture to Every Classroom"

Each February, Memphis in May holds an annual International Teachers' Conference, an opportunity for area teachers and educators to obtain valuable resources and the knowledge necessary to incorporate international culture into their classrooms.  Every year, the conference honors a new country, and teaches educators in attendance about the country's history, geography, art, culture, and science, distributing activities and lesson plans for their curriculum.

Everyone in attendance obtainins professional development hours (MCS and Private Schools) or flex hours (SCS) for their attendance. The conference is offered free of charge each year to Memphis-area teachers and educators. The 2011 International Teachers' Conference will be held in February of 2011, and will honor the Kingdom of Belgium. To put yourself on an email reminder list for the 2011 International Teachers' Conference honoring Belgium, contact rfennell@memphisinmay.org.
