Memphis in May International Festival Presents
SPLENDORS OF TURKEY
Centuries of Turkish tradition come alive as Memphis in May hosts Splendors of Turkey at The Orpheum Theatre. This phenomenal evening features the Anatolian Sun Quartet, performing traditional Turkish folk music and the performers of BaBa Zula, who combine belly dancing, elaborate costumes, whirling dervishes and live animation to create a cultural experience like no other. Patrons will also have an opportunity to sample authentic Turkish cuisine prepared by Chef Gencer Üzümlü of the Istanbul Culinary Institute. Travel to Turkey and never leave town!

Performing at Beale Street Music Festival
Saturday May 3 & Sunday May 4:

Turkish rock band, Duman, will be the featured international artist at the 2008 Beale Street Music
Festival. This award-winning band made the cover of Turkish Rolling Stone Magazine in July 2007
and has been named Group of the Year in numerous Turkish publications and enjoys a huge
following. Duman combines traditional Balkan and Anatolian folk music and modern rock to
produce its innovative sound. Duman has hit the road again and begun work on a new album to
be released in early 2008.
