A Memphis Memorial Day Weekend Tradition – Celebrating 10 Years!
October 15, 2024 – Memphis in May has opened registration for the Great American River Run to be held Memorial Day Weekend Saturday, May 24, 2025. The race features a 5K, 10K, and half-marathon, something for runners of any skill level. The 2025 race will begin and end in AutoZone Park in downtown Memphis and is the 10th anniversary of the run which began in 2015.
Organizers are offering deep discounts on early registrations for a limited time, the 5K is just $34, the 10K is $40 and the half marathon is only $60. In honor of the race being held on Memorial Day weekend, an additional discount is offered to members of the military. Runners are encouraged to act fast to take advantage of the amazing price breaks.

The popular race includes an exciting fireworks start, and features an exclusive incentive to the Great American River Run’s half marathon: the “King and Queen of the Hill,” which offers an additional $500 prize to the fastest male and female runners to crest the A.W. Willis bridge.
The Great American River Run will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, and is designed for all levels of runners, from elite athletes to beginning runners or family participants. Courses wind through downtown Memphis and along the riverfront, and ending with our famous post-race party .
