Memphis’ Newest Memorial Day Weekend Tradition!
Runners of all talent levels laced up and launched AutoZone Park for the 8th edition of the Great American River Run presented on Saturday, May 25, 2024. The run is part of the Memphis in May International Festival.
“The Great American River Run has something for everyone with a 5K, 10K and half-marathon,” says Mack Weaver, President & CEO of Memphis in May. “Plus it’s a great way to experience the city, whether you’re a Memphian showing off to out-of-town guests or visitors getting a beautiful street-level tour!”
Runners from 30 states and 2 foreign countries converged on AutoZone Park for another exciting Memphis run. The race started with a fireworks send-off led by a Porsche car through downtown Memphis and along the Mississippi River. The Great American River Run featured something for every level runner attracting elite athletes and record holders running the Half-marathon to fun runners in the 5K or those stepping up their game in the 10K.
