The Memphis In May Judges’ seminar provides instruction and training to become a judge for the World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest.

Topics include:

  • Memphis in May Judging process and rules
  • Official WCBCC meat categories
  • Scoring process, blind, on-site, and Finals judging
  • Sample barbecue from a WCBCC championship competition team during simulated judging exercises

Memphis in May 2026 WCBCC Judges’ Seminar

  • When: Saturday January 31, 2026
  • Registration and Check-In starts at 8am
  • Seminar starts at 9am with lunch at 12pm and a mock On-Site Judging presentation to follow.
  • Over by 2pm
  • Where: DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Memphis, 5069 Sanderlin Ave, Memphis, TN 38117
  • Breakfast and Lunch are provided
  • Mock On-site Judging Presentation by Will-Be-Que, the 2025 Whole Hog Champion.
