MEMPHIS, TN, January 12, 2022 – Memphis in May International Festival has opened registration for the Great American River Run to be held Memorial Day Weekend Saturday, May 28, 2022, presented by AutoZone.
Organizers are offering deep discounts on early registrations for a limited time, the 5K is just $25, the 10K is $30 and the half marathon is only $45. In honor of the race being held on Memorial Day weekend, an additional discount is offered to members of the military.
“With 2300 racers from 38 states participating last year, the Great American River Run is fast becoming THE must-run-race in Memphis,” says James L. Holt, President and CEO of Memphis in May. “We have a race for every runner at every skill level attracting elite athletes to families, and of course, our famous post-race party with real Memphis food, local beer, and live music in Handy Park.”
The popular race includes an exciting fireworks start, course entertainment and features an exclusive incentive to the Great American River Run’s half marathon: the “King and Queen of the Hill,” which offers an additional $500 prize to the fastest male and female runners to crest the A.W. Willis bridge.
The Great American River Run will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2022, and is designed for all levels of runner, from elite athletes to the beginning runner or family participant. Courses wind through downtown Memphis and along the riverfront, and, ending on historic Beale Street with our famous post-race party in Handy Park.
