Running groups are a great way for you to stay in shape and train for the Great American River Run. These groups provide a community for you to stay motivated and keep you accountable on your training journey. There are also runners at all paces and different experience levels, providing you with the opportunity to make friends and also meet a mentor.

Caffeine Run
- When: Tuesdays
- Where: Cafe Eclectic, 603 N McLean Blvd, Memphis, TN 38107
- Led by: Bryan Roberson
- Distance: 3.5 miles
- Route: Around Overton Park and the Greenline
Track and Speed Training
- When: Tuesdays
- Where: Memorial Field, Memphis, TN 38111
- Led by: (Local running legend) Paul Sax
- Distance: varies each week (usually around 3 miles of speed work total)
- Route: Around and around the track you go!
- What you need to know: This workout is divided out by pace so everyone gets a good, hard run in. Arrive at 6 to warm up, and the workout itself will start at 6:20.
Wolf River Trail Run
- When: Wednesdays
- Where: 1225 S Germantown Rd, Germantown, TN 38138
- Led by: Breakaway Running
- Distance: Your choice; most go 3-5 miles
- Route: Choose between the Wolf River trails and the Germantown Greenway paved path
- What you need to know: Free beer after the run!
Tour De Midtown
- When: Thursdays
- Where: 2109 Madison Ave, Memphis, TN 38104
- Led by: Breakaway Running
- Distance: Your choice; most go 3-5 miles
- Route: In the summer, through Overton Park; in the winter, through Central Gardens
- What you need to know: Free beer after the run!
Salty Dogs
- When: Mondays
- Where: BARDOG TAVERN, 73 Monroe Ave, Memphis, TN 38103
- Led by: Miles Durfey
- Distance: usually around 3 miles, with options to run more or less if you’d like
