For decades, Memphis’ own Jason D. Williams has been entertaining crowds with his spirited take on country and rock ‘n’ roll classics, earning him favorable comparisons to piano playing forefathers such as Jerry Lee Lewis, Memphis Slim, and Ray Charles. In fact, Williams performed all of the hand shots for the movie “Great Balls of Fire” starring Dennis Quaid as Jerry Lee Lewis. “I’ve always welcomed the comparisons; my influences were some of the greatest entertainers ever to be seen,” he says. Although performing the classics will likely always be at the center of Williams’ storied live show, he has also begun to write original songs for the first time in his career.
