Produced by Memphis film producer, Anwar Jamison, Coming to Africa is a feature-length comedic drama that aims to shatter stereotypes and provide a refreshing point-of-view of life on the continent of Africa while entertaining a massive audience. The film explores the thoughts, feelings, ideas and beliefs of people living on the African continent.
Film synopsis: Adrian (Anwar Jamison), a philandering financial executive, has spent his entire life shunning Black consciousness and chasing corporate success. Adrian’s brother, Buck (Khalil Kain), is an activist who routinely holds community meetings in his barber shop. After a perfect storm of disappointment and discrimination, Adrian finds himself in Ghana on an amusing adventure where he meets Akosua (Nana Ama McBrown) and finds nourishment for his soul.

Part of an ongoing “Global Lens” series, seeking current or classic leading films for this popular, contemporary art-house film community. Screenings during May at local cinemas.
