BECOME A WCBCC JUDGE
Registration is NOW OPEN for the Judges Seminar! This is your once-a-year chance to become a Memphis in May Barbecue Judge.
Successful attendees will be certified to judge starting with WCBCC 2023 and after judging for two years will become fully certified.
This seminar will prepare and train judges for the 2023 competition and subsequent years. During the seminar, you’ll learn the judging process and rules, official WCBCC meat categories, scoring process, and much more. You’ll also sample barbecue from the 2022 WCBCC 1st Place Ribs Championship competition team, Heath Riles, during the simulated judging exercise.

The Judges Seminar fee is non-refundable and includes WCBCC Judging Manual, training materials, sampling of competition-quality barbecue, certificate upon completion and lunch.

If you’ve not earned your certification from us, we ask that you sit out in 2022. Come back to this page in August or September and register to attend our annual Judges Seminar, which typically occurs in November. More information about the Judges Seminar will be published after May.
