Ghost Town Blues Band

Thanks to artists such as B.B. King and Furry Lewis, Memphis will always be known as the “Home of the Blues,” even if the genre is no longer the dominant cultural force it once was. That said, homegrown acts like the Ghost Town Blues Band are proof that the blues is still alive and well in the Bluff City. Formed in 2009, GTBB are a radical mixture of traditional blues, Stax-era soul, and hip-hop attitude that have made them one of the most captivating live shows around. The six-piece band is a perfect illustration of the magic that occurs when the music of the past is refined through modern sensibilities.
