Best known as the creators of the 1995 grunge classic “Possum Kingdom,” Fort Worth’s Toadies became fan favorites with their powerful but melodic music. After the breakout success of their 1995 major label debut Rubberneck, the band embarked on a series of shows with the likes of Bush and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Unfortunately, due to conflicts with their record company, a follow-up album wasn’t released until 2001, after which the group broke up. In 2008, they returned to action and began making up for lost time with a series of well-received albums that largely stayed true to their signature sound. Whether you’re a longtime fan of the band or simply know them from their signature hit, Toadies are one of this year’s can’t-miss acts.
