Whether punk rockers White Reaper named their second album The World’s Best American Band in jest or not, the Louisville natives are certainly making their case as one of the most exciting young bands on the scene today. Based in Louisville, Kentucky, the band expertly balances their uproarious garage punk sound with slickly polished hooks. With an ear for ‘80s AOR and 2000s-era pop-punk, White Reaper has explored new sonic territory on each of their releases, paying homage to these twin influences to varying degrees in each. In 2019, White Reaper reached the top of the Alternative charts with their hit single “Might Be Right,” which helped them reach a legion of new fans. The group’s latest album, Asking for a Ride, has been praised for its undeniable melodicism and raw energy, two elements on which they’ve solidly built their reputation.
